The Tumbarumba region has been producing 5 star grapes and wines for several years now, nearly all of which has gone to many of Australia’s best wine companies for their flagship wines. And while these flagship wines have attracted high scores and endless awards, the honour and recognition has never before been bestowed upon Tumbarumba! Fortunately today, some of the best grapes grown in Tumbarumba, stay in Tumbarumba and as a result the region is getting more exposure. Coppabella is paving the way, redefining perception and turning the attention to what is produced in the region.
How?
With the release of the 2017 Halliday Wine Companion, ‘Coppabella of Tumbarumba’ was elevated to Five Star Status. The Five Star Status is described in the Wine Companion as; “Outstanding winery capable of producing wines of very high quality, and did so this year. Will also usually have at least two wines rated at 95 points or above.” At time of print only 181 wineries (nation-wide) were awarded Five Stars out of the 2800 wineries in the database.
